The testing team commented on being ‘smitten with the Defys handling’ and described the ride as being ’responsive without feeling twitchy’. Endurance bikes are, as the name suggests, built for long days in the saddle and one of the high points of the bike was that it offers ‘comfort in spades’. This is largely down to the D-Fuse bars and seatpost which work ‘harmoniously’ to dampen road vibrations and ease out bumps, with the testers even commenting how the bike ‘excelled’ on gravel sections.
The Carbon wheelset give the bike a ‘rewardingly flighty wheel’, the Ultegra disc brakes ‘scrub speed swiftly and safely’ whilst the 32c Fondo tubeless tyres offer ‘all-weather grip’.
Summing up the review, the final verdict was that the Defy Advanced Pro 2 is where ‘high performance and high value meet in a fun-packed ride’.
